More than just an amazing piece of property
In addition to the Deeded lands, Water Rights and Hydro-Electrical licenses; long term right to carry out marine operations on Butedale Bay, long-term Lease on Lands across the Bay from Butedale and Right of way lands, adjacent to our deeded lands are part of the development package.
National Geographic assisted Inside Passage Marine to acquire a Transport Canada permit with allows international passenger vessels to visit Butedale.
A deep bay with room to grow
Butedale is the natural location on the Inside Passage for Vessels to stop between Shearwater and Prince Rupert or between Shearwater and Kitimat. The bay is deep enough for large vessels such as 500ft passenger ferries.
When BC Ferries run past the bay on their scheduled routes they slow and passengers hear a short talk about its history.
The pristine, fresh water lake escapes the mountains in the form of a waterfall that cascades through Butedale’s Freehold Lands into a deep tidewater Bay on the Inside Passage.
Butedale Lake is the natural renewable reservoir of the catchment area. Set within a ring of mountains, an 8km long lake combines with gravity as the clean power source of Butedale’s Water Rights and Hydro-Electric Licenses
Butedale’s final water rights and hydro licenses date back to the 1940’s and earlier as the freehold lands associated with the water rights were founded in 1911.
